Description

Arm Support

(Arm Support) – Disorders of the arm, shoulders, elbows and wrists are usually characterized by swelling, inflammation, pain, decreased range of motion, and in severe cases after a long period of time, atrophy of the muscles and soft tissues will occur. For arm support in Chinese Medicine this condition is looked at this as an issue of Qi and Blood Stagnation and lack of circulation, possibly leading to a blockage in the channels and collaterals.

In addition to acupuncture, Chinese herbs can be very helpful to support the arm. When looking for a more modern day formula for arm support and to Activate the Qi and Blood, unblock the channels and collaterals, as well as relieve pain, look for one with the following herbs:

Bai Saho – which relaxes the muscles, and nourishes the blood and liver yin

Mo Yao (or Ru Xiang) – which both help to Promote blood circulation, dispel stasis, reduce swelling and relieve pain

Yan Hu Suo – which activates qi and blood circulation, and dispel qi and blood stagnation, as well as very strongly relieves pain
