Chemical poisoning is a condition in which the body is exposed to a potentially harmful chemical in an amount that causes symptoms, disease, and damage to cells, organs or body systems. Chemical poisoning can be intentional or unintentional. Chemical poisoning is increasingly common with the increase in consumption of prescription medication and is the second leading cause of injury and death in the U.S., according to the National Capitol poison Center.  In Chinese medicine we feel that this condition is a excess toxic heat pattern that leads to a deficiency in the Kidney and Heart, and eventually the yin.

As always when dealing with any serious condition like this you need to get it under control first, by meeting with your dr. and figuring out which medication if any is the culprit, then responsibly coming up with a plan to reduce or remove the medication. Once you have the situation stabilized Chinese herbs can be very helpful. When looking for a more modern day formula to:   Clear heat and toxins, nourish the yin, tonify the Kidney and heart.
